My First Metal Gig !!

After 2 long years of listening to most of the Death and Black metal bands on my Ipod or my laptop i finally had the chance to catch up with some live action .....but never in my wildest dreams did i expect to see a Black Metal Band performing here in Aamchi Mumbai ...and that too at a nominal price of 250 bucks ( courtesy Rock Street Journal )!

WELCOME TO THE FUEL GREAT INDIAN ROCK FESTIVAL - EDITION 12 ( sponsored by RSJ and SEAGRAMS FUEL VODKA ) @ MUMBAI with BHAYANAK MAUT (MUMBAI), THEM CLONES (DELHI)and the pioneering BLACK METAL band SATYRICON (NORWAY).

For all you fellow metalheads out there , LIVE METAL action beats the shit out of everything else....i mean the Pod , PC or CD system ..evrythin !! Not to mention the experiences of HEADBANGING and being in the MOSHPIT with 2000 other crazy metalheads !

Personally I just cant express the high i got when i headbanged in sync with the raw black metal blast beats produced by Frost , known to be one of the fastest and most proficient metal drummers alive . The drums sounded more like a MACHINE GUN which showed no signs of stopping !! At the end of 5 hrs of metal mayhem i was left with an aching neck , sore throat ( owing to the non-stop shouting ) and a spinning head !

There is absolutely nothing in the world i would have missed this for !! For all those of my friends who couldnt make it here for some reason or the other , suck on it dudes !! You just blew a lifetime opportunity away !!

Go Goa !

The first great thing to happen in a long time .......and one of the best and most meaningful 'independent' decisions i have ever taken would have to be this !!

Exact scenario :

Date 8 October 2008 : All my friends are done with their mid-sem exams while due to an absolutely effed up departmental schedule of mine i have another exam in line 2 days later . Frnds are leaving for Goa leaving behind a sulking ME with a book in hand .
....................

Date 9 October 2008 : Frnds have reached mumbai and have just boarded the Konkan Express on a journey which is too good to describe in words !! ME on the other hand am unsuccessfully flipping thru the pages of my book only to find my mind wandering in GOA !

Date 10 October 2008 : i give my theory exam in the morning ....and a viva in the evening .....take a flight back home that very evening only to be in goa the next morning !!

Rest i say is HISTORY !!


p.s. the idea behind this slow commentary and unfolding of events is to give the reader atleast half the pain the author ( ME !! ) went through during this period :P
